Pool System Upgrade
At Engineering Design Services, our aquatic engineering capabilities support the design and development of complex water systems for themed entertainment environments. Our team works behind the scenes on aquatic systems for theme parks, water attractions, and large-scale recreational environments. From high-capacity filtration systems to dynamic water features, our team delivers engineering solutions that ensure performance, reliability, and guest experience are seamlessly aligned.
Project Overview
Engineering Design Services provided full design and construction support to upgrade the mechanical and electrical systems at a main quiet pool in a themed resort. The project focused on improving system performance, reliability, and maintainability through the replacement and modernization of critical pool infrastructure.

Scope of Work

The project included the design and replacement of the main pool pump system, including a new pump assembly, corrosion-resistant strainer, isolation valves, and the integration of a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for improved operational control and energy efficiency. All equipment was engineered to meet original hydraulic performance requirements while enhancing durability and serviceability.

In addition, the team developed mechanical and electrical construction documents, including demolition and renovation plans, equipment schedules, single-line diagrams, and detailed installation drawings based on field verification and existing documentation research.

An electrical system upgrade option was also developed, including the replacement of a service entrance panel with a new NEMA 4X-rated enclosure, updated surge protection, improved circuit protection, and modifications to feeders and grounding systems to meet current code requirements.

Construction & Coordination

EDS supported the project through construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, coordination with contractors, and participation in design reviews, site visits, bid walks, and project closeout activities. Final deliverables included as-built documentation and updated CAD drawings to ensure long-term operational clarity.
