Hydrogen Facility

Project Overview

EDS played a key role in the engineering and design of a hydrogen generation facility in the State of Washington. The facility utilizes green Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) technology to produce hydrogen. During the construction phase of the project, EDS developed essential documentation to support the facility’s design and operational goals. This included determining the Piping and Valve Specifications before creating a facility level PFD & P&ID. After this documentation was developed, EDS facilitated a Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) study, a critical step in the project lifecycle. This systematic review identified potential risks, assessed operational safety, and ensured that the facility adhered to industry best practices and safety standards.

Key Achievements

  • Comprehensive Design Documentation: Provided a clear blueprint for the facility’s operations and ensured system compatibility, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Support for Sustainable Energy: Engineered a hydrogen generation facility using Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) technology, contributing to the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
